Will & Probate
What is a Will?
A Will allows you to give financial security for loved ones. It is important to state that without a Will, you have no say in how your wealth will be shared to your loved ones and others.
It will give you the opportunity of appointing trusted individuals to be responsible for the management of your affairs.
These trusted individuals are known as Executors. It will enable you to decide in writing how your property and possessions are to be divided among your loved ones; your funeral/burial wishes, whether you will pay inheritance tax liability and decide who you wish to act as guardians for your children.
PROBATE
EXECUTING A WILL
Have you been named as an ADMINISTRATOR OR EXECUTOR in a Will? If yes, you may have to apply for a Grant of Probate or a Grant of Letter of Administration if there is no Will [intestate rules].
This is a legal document which gives you the authority to share out the estate of the person who has died according to the instructions in the Will.
